Who says Scotland is rainy?

So we've decided that September is the best month for weather in St. Andrews. Last year when we arrived mid-September, the weather was just wonderful and this year has been almost as nice. We decided its to fool all the newly arriving students into thinking the weather here isn't so bad!

Since its been so nice, we've been taking advantage as much as possible.

Saturday we went on a hike along the coast.

And sunday we had a picnic after church in the cathedral then played in the back yard.

A rare pic of Isla sitting up on her own. She's still pretty unbalanced and is usually trying to reach for something so she's never sitting too long!

Its been so great to be able to be outside with no coats on and with the sun shining! Its still only in the mid 60's but we take what we can get here because the rain and clouds are only a few days away...

Sic 'em!

Isla and dad decked out for the Baylor game! Our Bears' season is looking bright!

Hooray for food!!!

So, we finally took the plunge recently and starting giving Isla solid food! She had been wanting to nurse pretty much non stop for about a week and since she will be officially 6 months old (the age at which everyone says they can eat solids) on Wednesday, we decided to go for it. Turns out she loves to eat!! We documented the occasion with some great photos!

Here is a before pic of her and her dad. The are both pretty stoked about the momentous occasion!

She stole the spoon pretty much right away. Classic Isla - has to do everything herself :)

Happy baby with a full belly!

So far she has had baby cereal (a mix of rice, quinoa, millet and some other grain I can't remember), avocado, banana, and butternut squash! She has yet to deny any food and really likes to try new ones!

Here she is munching some avocado. Again stealing the spoon! She's going to be a guacamole lover for sure!

This new development has given Haley a much needed break from nursing almost contstantly and Isla is back to her normal nursing schedule. We are also hoping this also helps her to sleep better. It seems to be helping out a little, but time will tell if its the miracle everyone tells us it is at getting your baby to sleep through the night! Lets hope it is!

Haley Turns 30!

Well since we don't have our internet turned on yet this post is a little late, but as of Sept 5 Haley is no longer in her 20's! We had a little get together to celebrate (pics coming soon), which also provided us the opportunity to thank those who graciously moved our stuff in St. A's while we were away in the states (another story coming soon). If you have the chance please feel free to lend Haley some wisdom as she enters a new decade of her life.
