Daddy and Daughter Day

Sorry we've been so slim in our posting this summer. Its been a little hectic and we've been spending lots of time with our families in light of recent events. As if our summer hadn't been eventful enough, today Haley's mom had surgery. Everything went well and she's feeling pretty good, so good news there. She may come home either tomorrow or Sunday and hopefully will have a fairly quick and easy recovery.

Since Haley wanted to be at the hospital most of the day with her mom, Stephen and Isla had their first entire day together. We are happy to report all went well and both Dad and daughter made it through relatively unscathed! Here are a few pics to document the occasion (plus some extra just because!)...

Isla downing a bottle. She doesn't get them often, but she still drinks them like a pro!

Isla and dad taking a nap. She's had a bit of a cold the last couple of days, so holding her helps her sleep a little better. Plus its a good photo op!!

Here she is performing her latest trick - the army crawl. Yes, we are totally freaked out that she is already mobile at only 5 months old!!

Striking a pose for the camera!

We head back to St. Andrews on Sunday, so we will (hopefully) be posting a little more regularly soon!

I cannot believe how BIG she is now! Still looks like the perfect combo of both of you guys. Gorgeous little girl!

I meant to tack this on to my other comment. Sorry about that. Again, that old age thing.

I'm glad Aunt Cathy made it through surgery ok. I was worried about it because it's a rough one. My mom called me with the news of her pathology report today. It's just not been a good summer for you guys, hunh? I have her on the prayer list at church and on the mom boards prayer lists I am a part of online.

It's tough enough to deal with body changes after the surgery but cancer too? I feel odd saying this because I haven't really known you guys in years since you packed up and moved off to Texas but please let her know I'm here for her if she needs someone to talk with about it who has sort of been there. Right now we are awaiting results to make sure I don't have colon cancer from some tests done on Friday. I do NOT want to suffer the same fate as our grandfather.

UGH--I just HATE cancer. Worry, worry, worry.

I'm going to claim it in Christ's name that she is going to be ok. It's worked for me all these years through 20+ surgeries and it's going to work this time too!
